Patrolman Beitman, of 565 Dixmyth Avenue, on September 24, 1935, was struck while on his motorcycle by a reckless driver at Schiller and Hughes Streets.  Patrolman Beitman died seven days later at the General Hospital on October 1, 1935, from a basal skull fracture.

Patrolman Beitman left a wife, Henrietta.  He was buried in Section A, Lot 1861, Spring Grove Cemetery, on October 4, 1935, at 3 p.m.  Henrietta joined him 43 years later on January 6, 1978
