Trooper Miller was assigned to Post 6 in Dry Ridge.  On February 14, 1951, an officer in Boone County radioed a call for assistance.  Trooper Miller responded on U.S. 25 and as he approached Cabindale crashed into another vehicle.  He died from the injuries sustained.

Trooper Miller was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Erlanger, Ky.
