On November 9, 1938, Patrolman Rose, of 417 Oliver Street, while on his motorcycle, was struck by an automobile in front of the Hotel Hahn located at 1424 Dixie Highway. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital with compound fractured and mutilated legs and fractured ribs. He died there the following day, November 10, 1938.
He left a wife, Norma. On November 12, 1938, he was buried from St. Patrick’s Church in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 2201 Dixie Highway, Covington.
