Frank Seip lived with his father, a Prussian immigrant and physician, and youngest sister at 106 Pleasant Street.  Though a typesetter since he was a teenager, he joined the Cincinnati Police Department in 1887.

Later in the year, Patrolman Seip attempted to arrest a resisting suspect.  During the scuffle, the prisoner bit Patrolman Seip.  From that encounter, Patrolman Seip contracted Typhoid Fever.  He died on December 2, 1887.

Patrolman Seip left his father, Emil Seip (57), and two or three siblings including Charles (29) Seip and Bertha Seip (16).  He was buried in the Walnut Hills Cemetery.
